Bridgehead Organisation

The BHO is hosted by VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. The agency aims to increase the competitiveness of Swedish researchers and companies. VINNOVA is also the national contact agency for the EU Framework Programme for R&D. Some 200 people work at VINNOVA’s offices in Stockholm and Brussels.

There is one ESC in Sweden.

There are 5 LoCPs in Sweden.

Structure of the national network

The national network has 5 LoCPs and each LoCP are working about 80% with issues within the EURAXESS assignment.

Declaration of Commitment (DoC)

During the last year (2013), 4 members have signed the DoC and we are working on increasing the number of participants. Some of the members are afraid of the responsibilities that follows,  like statistic reports, which is mainly due to lack of resources. It will of course  require more effort from the BHO to increase the number of members to sign.

National funding of the EURAXESS Services Network

VINNOVA is the host institution for EURAXESS in Sweden, but three other research councils (Swedish Research Council, FAS and Formas) pay a yearly fee and have a representative each in the Steering Group for EURAXESS Sweden.

Relationship and communication between the BHO, the Steering Group for Human Resources and Mobility for Researchers (SG HRM), the National Contact Points (NCPs) and the Programme Committee

The BHO is part of the national NCP department at VINNOVA and are therefore communicating on a daily basis. The BHO have seldom contact with the PC. The BHO have some correspondence with the SGHRM, but it needs to be improved.

The national structure for the NCP, PC and BHO is yet not set for the H2020, but we are expecting some changes in the near future.
